Jihadi Sleeper Cells Target Kerala Secratariat Employees

Thiruvananthapuram: Going by the latest reports, there appears to be high strung activities of jihadi groups even in the apex body of Kerala state government- the Secretariat. Central Intelligence agencies are said to have begun investigations in this direction, with a couple of Sectetariat official under Intelligence surveillance. The cells operate inside the Secretariat and are well connected with other groups that have links with foreign organizations. Intelligence agencies have reported the functioning of as many as 25 terror cells in Kerala.
According to sources, these people identify those who have strong religious leanings and pass on their details to allied in Yemen, Egypt and Syria. These people are sent packages of written religious material, which are replete with religious extremism, in order to create an awareness among these people.
Gradually their doubts are clarified on social media by members of these organizations, slowly ensuring their active participation in online activities. After multiple confirmation about their authenticity and trustworthiness, they are entrusted with ground level duties.
One such package was received from foreign locations by a female employee in the Secretariat, which led to doubts about her motives. The source was Alexandria in Egypt with the address CIMS Corporation, PO Box 874. Intelligence agencies are investigating all such cases where employees are receiving similar dubious parcels from African and Gulf countries.
Women forums under various guises, which are strongly linked to ISIS, Al Qaeda, Lashkar e Toiba etc are active in colleges. Prominent educational institutions like University College Thiruvananthapuram, Maharajas College Ernakulam etc have strong presence of those actively associated with terror networks.
