The Kerala High Court has issued directives that Akhila, a victim of love jihad, who was forced to convert to Islam at Satyasarini, Manjeri, to return home to her parents. The girl Akhila, a student of homeopathy in Salem, is a native of Vaikom, Kottayam. The HC Division Bench directive came following a habeas corpus filed by her father Ashokan. The Bench pointed out that the certificate produced, issued by Jihadi conversion cto contest that Akhila was married, stood void.
According to reports, Akhila’s parents alleged that their daughter was forcibly converted to Islam and that those behind the move had plans of forcibly enrolling her into ISIS. “Akhila converted to Islam in 2016 and constantly tried coercing her parents to follow suit,” said sources.
Meanwhile Akhila is said to have informed her parents about plans of moving over to Syria. This left her parents extremely distraught, fearing if their daughter would join the dreaded terror network. The habeas corpus was filed following the disclosure of Akhila’s plans.
