If We Won’t, Then Who Will? Lest we forget the plight of tribal fraternity as we celebrate #HappyOnam
Tribal hamlets in Pathanamthitta, especially those in the vicinity of Sabarimala area are yet to realise the changes induced by COVID-19 in the world otherwise. Many of the tribal students, residing along the forest fringes of Gavi and Attathode are struggling on-board, at the recently introduced e-learning programs. Children of these forest-dwellers are yet to receive internet connectivity and the only option before them is watching non-interactive online classes via TV channels such as KITE VICTERS. In fact, majority of the houses in these areas do not have access to electronic devices. Things have come to a stage where these students are being forced to put an end to their education.
Recently, team samarpanam traveled all the way from Pathanamthitta to Gavi via the dense forest path and handed over three LED televisions to needy students. Two televisions were installed in the anganavadi, where students can jointly attend classes. It is important to ensure that more students come on-board and therefore facilitation of e-learning process is significant. Shouldn’t we consider it our duty, to stand behind these needy students?
And so, as we celebrate Onam, the festival of harvest and plentitude, let us not forget our underprivileged brethren. Let us join hands and ensure that we take forward the cause of their education.
Requesting wholehearted participation, to set the cause moving.Team HK is taking up this initiative, joining the hand with Bengaluru based NGO named Samarpanam Trust. If you wish to join with us for these noble causes, you may please contact: [email protected].
