Malappuram: Shocking reports of secret agencies flourishing in the state of Kerala, with the intent of recruiting youths for the dreaded terror network Al Qaeda, have surfaced. According to a report published by Janam TV, as many as twenty youths have been taken to Yemen from Kerala, with the intent of enrolling them in Dar Ul Hadith madrassa functioning there. The youths including Hindus are being recruited to Salafi Groups after converting them to Islam.
According to intelligence reports, an approximate of twenty youths have been taken to Damas madrassa of Yemen, the prime recruiting place of Al Qaeda, under the guise of theological studies. The youths were Hindus who hailed from Malappuram and Ernakulam. However they have been converted under new names of Abdullah, Abdul Rahman, Basim Ali. The story of Abdullah is tragic. A student of MES Engineering College Perinthalmanna, he was lured to the Jihadist racket, from which he could not escape.

According to the report, one of the prime links Naufal Kurikkal, is an active member of most jihadist activities taking place in the state, especially of Niche of Truth, a sister concern of Kerala Nadvathool Mujahid, one of the prime recruiting agencies for Al Qaeda. It has been discerned that “those being members of this fundamentalist group based in Kerala, who have been of the opinion that the group lacks fervour in their terror activities, are the ones who join Salafi networks in Yemen. Earlier international intelligence reports have also stated that those joining Damas madrassa are trained with the purpose of making them Jihadists.

At Damas Madrassa, they are trained by notorious religious fundamentalist preacher of Yemen, Sheikh Yahiya Hajoori. They are also trained to handle deadly weapons including AK 47.
