I believe there is no such right as not to get offended and therefore it is unimportant for me what the author’s opinion is about Draupati.

What I find offensive is the government of India’s itch to take positions on metaphysical epistemology such as whether Lord Ram lived or the depths of Draupati’s personal character. It has been accomplishing such feats by setting up ‘houses of ill repute as the Central Sahitya Shit Academy’ with a brood of otherwise unemployable idiots.

It is not the first time such sacrilegious acts are being committed. The Greek author Nokos Khazantzakis in his book titled ‘The Last Temptation of Christ ‘ questioned the very fundamamentals of Christianity by depicting that Jesus Christ was not killed but lived with the woman he loved till a mature age, He was a civil servant and ambassador of the Greek government .

Though it is a much acclaimed work in the literary circles, there is no record that the Greek government had given any ‘Sahitya’ Award to him unlike the government of India gives it to the Indian author of Draupati. Similarly Selman Rushdie is still waiting for the award from Indian government as other governments have failed to give him one.

There is something very fundamentally wrong with Manmohan Singh. Either he is a fool or a knave.
