Why single out BJP?

SECULAR HYPOCRICY!!!! LETTER TO INDIAN EXPRESS

DEAR SIR,

This has reference to the report “BJP’s CD politics does not make sense” (TNIE- 09 APR). The Article tries to hide behind a fig leaf of reasonableness and balanced writing.However,your readers,by now,have become accustomed to your ‘secular’ ways!!

The  provisions of para 16 (iii) of the Election Symbols (Reservation and Allotment) Order, 1968,states:

 “There shall be no appeal to caste or communal feelings for securing votes. Mosques,Churches, Temples or other places of worship shall not be used as forum for election.”

If that be the case, a few posers to your writer, would be in order:

(a) why is Rahul Gandhi’s statement in Deoband on the so called Babri Masjid ,not being treated at par as the CD?

(b) Is it perfectly ‘secular’ for ‘Maulana’ Singh Yadav to state at an election rally:”Kitne Yadav hain hath uthao jo Bundela (SP candidate) ko vote denge” (Yadavs raise hands who will vote for Bundela)?

 (c) During the last Bihar Assembly elections posters depicting post-Godhra riots were displayed in Bhagalpur and Kishanganj districts of Biharand CDs containing footage of the incidents were on display in Purnea by the ‘secular’RJD.

(d)In the same Bihar elections,posters were displayed depicting Goddess Durga killing Vajpayee and Advaani.The idol of the RJD chief – with his silver hair intact – was depicted holding a sudarshan chakra, the celestial weapon of Lord Krishna; his wife Chief Minister Rabri Devi was made to look alikeGoddess Durga holding a trident and in a bright yellow sari;and Sonia Gandhi was projected as deity of sacrifice with a bow and arrow in her hands.

What was the reporting done by your current writer on these?One presumes that these would fall within the ‘secular’ ambit?But,lo and behold! When the BJP does something that the ‘secular’ brigands had done earlier, the ‘HEAVENS OPEN UP’!! SECULAR HYPOCRICY’ in India has to be ‘lived through’ to be believed!!
