Hoot & Scoot Vultures in Mallika Bandwagon Eats Crow

Malika Sarabhai’s hatred towards Narendra Modi is no new story. However, the danseuse’s attempt to misuse her mother’s death to abuse nation’s PM has backfired most mercilessly. It also served a deadly blow to the section of Modi hating Presstitutes who, in their desperation for TRP, grabbed Mallika’s baseless vitriolic outburst, but retraced when truth came out.

When celebrated dancer Mrinalini Sarabhai breathed her last at the age of 97, the Indian Prime Minister condoled the death, with a written note to her Gujarat based son Kartikeya Sarabhai, expressing his grief and sharing the family’s loss. “PM Modi wrote a letter to him on Thursday, condoling the death of his mother,” a BJP leader confirmed. However it is not clear what seized Mallika at the moment- either anguish that a prick had been dealt with on her inflated ego, when the Prime Minister chose her elder brother to send his condolence note or the anguish of a publicity hungry social activist who desperately who wanted her share of fame, whatever the occasion be.

Anyway she chose the wrong occasion and the wrong set of words and above all, the wrong person to vent her pent up hatred, when she spewed on Facebook thus- “My dear Prime Minister, you hate my politics and I hate yours. That has nothing to do with what Mrinalini Sarabhai did to promote the culture of this country to the world over sixty years,” she posted on her Facebook. “She blazed a trail for our culture to the world. That her death sees no word from you shows your mentality. However much you hate me, as our PM, it behoves you to recognise her contribution. You have not. Shame on you.”

The incident, apart from endorsing Mallika’s dramatic skills have yet again served to expose Presstitutes, especially the section of anti- Modi Malayalam media who jumped into the fray and started following the Malika bandwagon without checking with PM office. Celebrating Modi’s hatred politics for a day inside channel studios, social media and online portals they slowly withdrew from mudslinging when truth came out. However, quite typical of the hoot and scoot media; most of them never showed the courtesy to admit their mistake or correct their stance.

The incident though brief, served to expose the length to which Mallika Sarabhai can go to, if she decides to play politics. Even while being faced with an unparalleled loss, all she could think of was reaping political mileage out of the moment. One even wonders what the quantum of her grief would be, coz even at the moment of having lost a family member, whose relationship stands inestimable, Mallika chose to accuse a person, make it public and ensure that her coterie do the rest. However, the deluge criticism she now faces drowns all consolatory messages that had been reaching out to her.
