Why Kerala Media ignored Swamiji’s Samadhi?

via HK Correspondent published on November 24, 2006

Kerala’s visual media has once again shown its anti Hindu attitude by completely ignoring the passing away of the venerated Jagadguru Swami Sathyananda Saraswathi.

It is shameful that Kerala’s pseudo-secular media refused to highlight the contributions of Swamiji. He was brave in life and even in his last days he showed his courage. He was committed to uphold real Hindutva even up to his last days.

Kerala’s electronic media showed incredible ingratitude to one of our great Acharyas who was also a philosopher, orator, scholar and writer. He was instrumental in energizing Hindus in many ways. Swamiji encouraged Hindus to be assertive in preserving, practicing and promoting Hindu Dharma.

This is the same media which highlighted the death of the communist MLA Mathai Chackko with live coverage recently, as if an anti-national ideologist like Mathai Chackko was as great man as our ancient Rishis. If a minor Christian priest or a Muslim maulavi had died, the same media would have worked tirelessly to highlight his ‘achievements’ and would have made all arrangements for live coverage of the funeral too.

There are many reasons why Kerala’s visual media blacked out Swamiji. The main reason was that he was a committed Hindu. He spent his entire life to protect the interests of Hindu society. He worked tirelessly to bring Kerala’s Hindus together through various mass movements including the Nilakkal issue. Kerala’s media cannot digest such ‘fascist’ actions. They considered Swamiji a ‘Hindu fundamentalist ’.  Some print media bosses played many dirty games to destroy the Punnyabhumi newspaper founded by Swamiji.

Swamiji was the frontline leader of the Hindu mass movement in the 1980s against a move to build a church in the vicinity of Sabarimala Ayyappa Swami Temple. He was a member of the Margadarshak Mandal set up by Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) to lead the Ayodhya movement. Swamiji participated in the Ayodhya Karseva.

Swamiji was a firebrand Hindu leader of Kerala, a state in the grip of anti-Hindu and anti-nationalist forces. Swamiji was an excellent organizer and orator and has millions of followers around the world. He traveled all over the globe several times and addressed many Hindu mass gatherings.

We appeal to every Hindus to forward his/her protest letter to Kerala’s pseudo-secular medias since public pressure alone can change the anti-Hindu mindset of Kerala’s hard-core anti-national media.
