New Delhi: BJP president Rajnath Singh on Monday said the Communist ideology is intolerant and it does not believe in giving space for other schools of thought. Violence carried out by CPI(M) cadre in Nandigram and Kerala reveal the “ugly and fascist face” of the party. He was speaking at the Human Rights Convention in the Capital organised by the State unit of the BJP in connection with World Human Rights Day.

“The CPI(M) has been perpetrating violence against workers of nationalist forces for the last four decades in Kerala. I am pained to see the condition of our partymen. The Communists are using brute force to destroy the democratic set-up in States wherever they are in power. They are the biggest human rights violators in the world,” said Singh. Singh condemned the killing of innocent people in Kerala and West Bengal.

Singh also announced financial assistance, Medical assistance and other kinds of support to the victims of Communist violence. National BJP will provide financial assistance of Rs 25,000 to the victims of Communist Terror. The main purpose of the convention, according to the organisers, was to highlight the atrocities committed by CPI(M) cadre on innocent people before the nation. “The only reason for the Communist atrocities on these people is that they refused to follow the Communist path and decided to work for other organisations,” said Singh.

The victims of violence, who came all the way from Kerala, narrated their experiences before the media. Victims mainly from Kannur District visited Rajnath Singh in party Headquarters as well. P.K.Sudheesh from Chokli, Sadanandan Master Hareendran from Thilankeri, Prasoon, Thilakan, PrakashBabu from Thalassery, Prajil Koothuparambu, Harindranath Ancharakandi, Pinarai Asokan, Pinarai Premjith ( Relative of Pinarai Vijayan), Pinarai Shalin, Panoor Vinodan, Choli Prasad, Bhaskaran, Thalassery were the victims who shared their experience in terror land Kannur.

In the past 40 years more than 150 Hindu activists were killed by CPI(M) in which 90% of the killings were in Kannur district alone.

Addressing the gathering, BJP Secretary Balbir Punj said the CPI(M) has changed their strategy of late. “Earlier, they used to kill our workers. But now they don’t kill. They cut the limbs of people, so that they remain as the walking example for others who plan to quit the party,” he argued.

The Pioneer Editor Chandan Mitra, who spoke at length about the violence in Nandigram, said that the CPI(M) had let loose a reign of terror there. “People in the trouble-torn area were so terrified that they were even reluctant to talk to the NDA delegation,” he said.

In Kerala, the CPI(M) has been indulging in endemic violence. He lauded the “spirit of the workers” who came all the way from Kerala to expose the “ugly face” of the CPI(M) in the Capital and to rouse the “nation’s conscience”.

He said that the media and the civil society organisations in the Capital were till now aware of only one face of the CPI(M). Only after Nandigram they saw the real face of the party, which often masquerade as champions of human rights.

Among those who were present included former Union Ministers Arun Jaitley and Rajiv Pratap Rudy , Kerala BJP President P.K.Krishnadas , South Indian Chief Coordinator of BJP Purushothaman, Senior leader and MP V.K.Malhotra, Dr Harshavardhan and others.
