Two persons were injured in clashes between the Islamic fundamentalist outfit NDF and the CPI(M). The injured are Koyamon and Shafeek. Both the injured are NDF workers.

The Malappuram district has been witnessing a series of clashes since the arrival of NDF on the politics of the district and in the recent clashes between the NDF and the RSS people lost their lives. The NDF is an organisation which is not included in the mainstream of Muslim politics and according to social observers the only support it gets in the social life is from PDP chairman Abdul Nasser Madani who is trying to portray this as a human rights organisation. However, the background of Madani and the politics of hate which he practised in the State was considered the first seeds of divsionism in the State politics which is now extending into the social life.

Leading sociologists who have conducted detailed studies on the social life of Kerala vows that there is a clear demarcation on communal lines in the State and that the NDF and Madani brand of politics are primarily responsible for this.

Even a leader like Pinarayi Vijayan openly blamed the NDF for the recent spate of killings in Kasargode. Pinarayi being the State secretary of the CPI(M) is in access to all the important developments in the State and this statement from him has to be taken seriously.

In Kasargod the recent communal clashes took the life of four persons, including the senior leader of the BMS and one of the growing advocates of Kasargode bar, Advocate Suhas, who was brutally hacked by a group of NDF activists just when he was coming out of his office in the heart of the city.

The series of killings started when the NDF men ganged up and killed a local BJP worker, Sandeep while he was returning home from work along with a friend. This resulted in a counter attack by the Sangh parivar organisations and killings and counter killings in retaliation to this.

The NDF has already taken the lives of senior leaders of the Sangh parivar including the Kannur district leader of RSS and Hindu Aikya Vedi T Ashwini Kumar who was ruthlessly murdered in a moving bus. The NDF men were involved in the cold blooded murder of the Thiruvananthapuram district seva pramukh, Sunil Kumar at Chirayinkeezhu. The dead Sunil was a news paper vendor and the NDF men were arrested following several months of intense political lobbying from the organsationwith the police.Sources in the police told The Pioneer that the personal rapport of a senior leader of the NDF with a high ranking police official of the State was the result of several NDF men getting off scot free after committing heinous crimes. There were already reports on the involvement of two top ranking police officials in the Marad communal carnage in which seven fishermen lost their lives and several were maimed for life.
