New Delhi

: Kerala Congress leader K.M.Mani and Congress Leader Umman Chandi were in Delhi as part of all party visit to seek Central assistance for the losses to farmers due to summer rains.

Though the all party visit failed to meet it’s objective, Umman Chandi and K.M. Mani had a much more important memorandum to submit to their Madam from Rome and Prime Minister

The Memorandum was in behalf of Churches in Kerala and the Highlights are

1) Send a Friendly Delegation in behalf of Government of India to witness the naming ceremony of their new saint sister Alphonsa at Rome!

2) Start Special Flight from Cochin to Rome under subsidized rate for Christian pilgrims

3) Start a ChristianUniversity at Barananghanam the birth place of Alphonsa in Kottayam

4) Start a special Township in Barananghanam

5) Issue stamp with image of Alphonsa in October 12- The Naming Ceremony day

6) Make a National Highway from Nedumbassery to Bharananghanam in view of Pilgrim influx from across the globe

Keeping aside the primary issue of Farmers, this Christian agenda was in forefront for these Christian leaders who pose themselves as apostles of Secularism.
