To our Media,Hindus are always wrong!
BLACK FRIDAY AND BEYOND”- LETTER TO INDIAN EXPRESS
DEAR SIR,
This has reference to the Article ‘Black Friday and other film realities’ – (TNIE-10 Feb).
The writer states:
‘Successive governments, the censors and even our own system and the public are never ready for any kind of looking-back exercise or introspection’
Unexceptionable indeed. The trouble is that in ‘secular’ India it is a biased and one-sided exercise!!In simple terms, this implies the Hindus are ALWAYS in the WRONG and the MINORITIES are NEVER WRONG!!There are enough evidences to prove this, since the turn of Independence.Be it Ayodhya or Jhabua or Jhajjar or even the Graham Staines episode.
In his “India-Its Life and Thought“-John P. Jones had written:
“By the sword and cruel inquisition not only were Syrian Christians compelled to transfer their allegiance to the Pope;non-Christians also were, for perhaps the second time in the long history of the land, subjected to bitter restraints and inhuman inflictions of religious persecution. It is a curious fact that the hideous monster of religious intolerance was hardly known in India until, first the followers of Mohammed and, secondly, the disciples of the meek and lowly Jesus, began to invade the land”.(pp 166).
Truer words will be difficult to come by.Of course,it cannot be published as it runs ‘counter’ to the Indian concept of ‘secularism’!!Cheers!!
