CPM office ransacked after arms found inside

NANDIGRAM: A CPM party office at Itaberia was ransacked on Tuesday after arms and ammunition were seized from the premises, police said here.

East Midnapore district police sources said people made police search the party office after they gave information about the arms kept inside.

The search led to seizure of three guns, a box of bombs, 100 rounds of ammunition and a sackful of bomb-making material, they said.

After the police sealed the office and left, locals went on a rampage and damaged the building

Police, accompanied by people, also raided the house of a CPM leader at Mangighaber at Khejuri and seized two guns and 50 bombs, the sources said.
