Student beaten up for wearing ‘rudraksha’ in Missionary school

Armstrong and Nithyanand, the two teachers of   St. Francis Higher Secondary School in village Chinna Keera Mangalam near Thiruvadanai in Ramanathapuram district, Tamilnadu,   snapped the ” rudraksha mala” worn by a student and also beat him up for wearing it.


Cases have been registered against on charges of beating up Saravanachandran of class seven. Both the teachers were absconding, the police said. Armstrong and Nithyanand lost temper when they saw Saravanachandran wearing the mala and asked him to remove it. When the boy refused, they hit him and snapped the mala.


Shri. Muralidharan, national council member, BJP, pointed out that incidents of hurting Hindu sentiments are increasing in minority institutions and that the RDO should conduct an enquiry into the rudraksha incident.
