SIMI men arrested – Tehelka not to be heard!

After the startling arrests by the Gujarat police of nice SIMI activists and the revelation of Kerala being a major recruiting and training ground for their activism, someone who quite recently proved them innocent and even went to the extend of calling the SIMI activists ‘bravehearts’ seem to have gone into hiding !!

The Tehelka channel that did a three month study and investigation had laid the blame on Shri.L.K.Advani who ordered the ban on the organization. They claimed all the cases were fake and that the Muslims were being unlawfully targeted. Now with these arrests and further claim of commando training and Maoist involvement with SIMI has brought forth a new avenue to the whole case. Shri. Laloo and Shri. Mulayam seem to have suddenly become silent and is no more supporting the removal of the ban on the SIMI. A few weeks back we saw them openly supporting the terror organisation when the ban on the SIMI was briefly removed by a court.

Its one thing to be involved with active journalism fighting crime on the print but another ball game when it comes to biased reporting that can have major impact on the security of the country. What Tehelka has done is to get involved in whitewashing a terror organisation in the monds of the nations people. The very people who proudly hailed the sting operations of the Tehelkha as a change in the nation where corruptuion was at its zenith. The people saw the coming of the Tehelkha as an eye opener and expected the paper and many others like it to go miles in exposing corrupt politicions and wrongful policies of the non secular and anti-people government. but instead where the use of press freedom to cover up the activities of terror organisations like SIMI and support for the unlawful Maosist organisation.

We hope Tehelka and the forces behind it see the reality infront of them and instead of selective investigation do more proper study of their research. We hope they donot come in the way of the law simply because the arresting office report to Narendra Modi !!
