Seema Mustafa, Where were you when – – -?
LETTER TO INDIAN EXPRESS
Â
DEAR SIR,
Â
Â
Reference the ‘ Bollywood style melodramatic tear jerker ‘ - “ In defence of secularism ” – (TNIE- 27 OCT)
Â
Â
I would like to query Seema Mustafa where was she when:
Â
Â
(A) – The Islamic separatist movement in J&K in 1989/90 blared from the mosques in the valley and reported in sections of the ‘secular’ English media: (a) “ASEH CHHUH HANAWUN PAKISTAN, BATAV ROS BATEHNEW SAN(We have to make (Kashmir) Pakistan, albeit without BHATTAS (Hindus) but along with their BHATTNEH (Womenfolk);
Â
Â
(b) AYE ZALIMO AYE KAFIRO,
KASHMIR
HAMARA CHHORH DO
(Oh you tyrants and Oh you infudels, quit our
Kashmir
);
Â
(c) ISLAM HAMARA MAQSAD HAI, QURAN HAMARA DASTIGAR HAI, JEHAD HAMARA RASTA HAI
(Islam is our object, Quran is our guiding principle, JIHAD is our path);
Â
(d) ALLAH O AKBAR MUSALMANO JAGO,KAFIRO BHAGO JIHAD ARAHA HAI
(Allah O Akbar Oh Muslims awake, O infidels, take to your heels- JIHAD is proceeding).
Â
(REF:”CONTEMPORARY KASHMIR POLITICS: SOME INSIGHTS” – pp 124 -126).
Â
Â
(B) – ” Some of the members of this community [ Kashmiri Pandits] were butchered in a barbaric manner. One shudders to narrate the details. One such example is that of Brij Nath Kaul of Harman village. In May 1990, Kaul’s wife and sister were kidnapped from their village. Both the young women were publicly molested. Their clothes were shredded into pieces and they were meted out incredibly shameful treatment. THEY WERE RAPED. After this inhuman act, the husband and wife were tied to a jeep in the village named Imam Sahib. The jeep was driven over the cobbled road during the day and with speed. The couple cried and begged for mercy for a while. They cried for help but nobody was willing to come to their rescue. Not only that, the onlookers in the neighbourhood too looked at them with spite. They were dragged till their cries stopped and they breathed their last. There are many more barbaric stories like that and one needs reams of paper to record their details”.
(REF: ibid. pp 127)
Â
Â
Did Seema Mustafa or the SECULAR ENGLISH MEDIA BOTHERED TO REPORT THESE???
Â
Â
Next we come to ‘ secular ‘ pearls of wisdom! ”
India
is a pluralistic state. It is any number of states and any number of peoples – -“.
Straight out of the then undivided CPI’s ” On
Pakistan
and National Unity ” – May 1943 –
the resolution passed at the Party’s Congress in Mumbai. Among others it stated that the right to secede should be given to all ‘NATIONALITIES’ – ‘Karnatakis’, Andhras, Tamils, Bengalis, Marathis, Punjabis, Sindhis, Baluchis, Pathans. Even the formula put forth by the Cripps Mission did not envisage the balkanisation of
India
!! And yet, 60 years post
Independence
– we have this secular worthy telling ‘any number of states and any number of peoples’!! QUISLINGS??
Â
Â
The contrast cannot be more stark when one reads ‘The Completed Works’ Of swami Vivekananda !! In his writings and speeches one comes across hundreds of references to the reawakening of the Hindu nation, the resurgence of the Hindu nation and the rejuvenation of the Hindu nation. One finds his writings full of expressions such as ‘ the national vision of the Hindus ‘, ‘ the national traditions of the Hindus ‘. He keeps referring to the national glory and destiny of the Hindus, their national ethos and history (not written by ‘THE EMINENT HISTORIANS’, of course!!),their national consciousness and goal. He talks of the Hindu national edifice and raison d’etre of the Hindu nation, the national task of the Hindus and the ship of the Hindu nation. And, history also tells that this ethos formed the basic plank of the ‘ Swadeshi Movement ‘.
Â
Â
And this is what Sri Aurobindo said in his famous Uttarpara speech on
30 May 1909
:
Â
” I say it again today, but I put it in another way. I say no longer that nationalism is a creed, a religion, a faith; I say that it is the Sanatan Dharma which for us is nationalism. This Hindu nation was born with the Sanatan Dharma, with it it moves and with it it grows. When the Sanatan Dharma declines, then the nation declines, and if the Sanatan Dharma were capable of perishing, with the Sanatan Dharma it would perish.”
Â
Â
This nun’s story has also drawn flak from the readers of the very SECULAR ‘People’s Daily of Chennai ‘ as could be read from the lament of the ‘Readers Editor’s’ column!!
Â
Â
No requiem, of course, for the unfortunate Kauls. After all they are ‘despicable communals’ and expendable!!
Â
Any wonder I felt like puking when our worthy secular wrote: ” If
India
is to survive and flourish – – – secularism has to be protected and nurtured”. R.I.P.
Â
Â
I also wonder the need to have published this secular trash on the auspicious occasion of DEEPAVALI.
Â
Talks volumes about ‘secular sensitivities and sensibilities’
!!
Â
Â
HAPPY DEEPAVALI
