Scathing Attack in Facebook on Muslim Actress for not Wearing Head-Scarf

published on June 25, 2014

Following the scathing attack launched on her in the social media sphere, young Malayalam actress Ansiba Hassan said that the pictures posted by her on Facebook were part of her profession. Reacting to the incident, Ansiba said that she has the same rights as any other celebrity.

According to sources, comments like “You will go to hell if you don’t wear your head scarf”, “Likes and comments will not come to your rescue when you lie in your grave” filled Ansiba’s Facebook page.

“The same set of people will not hesitate to issue a death threat even,” said people close to the actress, who did not wish to be named.

“This is a deliberate attempt by a certain section to spin controversies. I have been using Facebook solely for official purposes. But from now on, even that will not be used,” said the Muslim actress who shot to fame following her role as Mohanlal’s daughter in ‘Drishyam’.

This is the not the first time that actresses have been the target of Muslim fundamentalists. Sometime back, popular actress and ‘new gen sensation’ Nazriya Naseem was subject to similar scathing attacks. It is believed that the same group of people is behind the same as well.
