Sanctimonious Secular Hogwash

SANCTIMONIOUS HOGWASH – LETTER TO INDIAN EXPRESS

DEAR SIR,

Your “Modi-Bashing” edit – “Modi’s guile” – (TNIE-10 DEC), I regret to state,was a load of “sanctimonious secular hogwash”. No more. No less.

Your edit reminded me of two insightful pieces written by Muslims. In his “Islam’s Useful Idiots”, Amil Imani, an Iranian Shia Muslim living in exile in the U.S.A. wrote:

“The Useful Idiot can be a billionaire, a movie star, an academe of renown, a politician, or from any other segment of the population. Arguably, the most dangerous variant of the Useful Idiot is the “Politically Correct.”

He is the master practitioner of euphemism, hedging, doubletalk, and outright deception. The Useful Idiot, among other things, is a master practitioner of scapegoating. He assigns blame to others while absolving himself of responsibility, has a long handy list of candidates for blaming anything and everything, and by living a distorted life, he contributes to the ills of society.

In his insightful little book ‘Muslim Politics in Secular India’, an Indian Muslim journalist, Hamid Dalwai, describes one of the symptoms of dhimmitude in plain English. He wrote:

“A Hindu is used to playing several roles and he is an expert in assuming different forms on different occasions. I have already referred to Hindu intellectuals and given the due praise. But I must frankly state that there is a kind of Hindu who is always terrified when he thinks of Muslims. This is no doubt a shameful state of affairs. At every critical moment this particular type of Hindu pretends to be more of a Muslim than a Muslim himself, and thwarts the attempts of those who are trying to make the average Muslim less of a fanatic. (Dalwai, 1968, pp. 44-45).

Your edit, unfortunately,mirrors the foregoing.

With Sohrabuddin, the Modi-bashers believed they finally hit the jackpot. Indeed, they appear to have successfully fixed DG Vanzara, the fearless encounter specialist who apparently did not believe in exchanging Anglo-Saxon pleasantries with terrorists or arranging gourmet meals including biryani for them in jail, the way a previous Government in Delhi did with ISI-backed Kashmiri terrorists at the Hazratbal shrine. Vanzara’s colleagues subsequently let him down, for even if his methods of tackling terror cannot be condoned his nationalist motives are above reproach. It is reminiscent of the way human rights-wallahs hounded Amarjit Singh Sandhu, SSP Amritsar in the heyday of Khalistani terrorism, once he had liquidated the enemies of India in the district under his command. In Punjab, not a single terrorist was convicted by the courts even under a draconian TADA but the same courts relentlessly pursued cases against Sandhu to the point where he was driven to penury and eventual suicide.

The fact of the matter is that Modi’s Gujarat is “free of Islamic Jihad” post Aksharadham while the rest of ‘secular’ India is a blank cheque for the Jihadis. And our seculars will prattle “The Mumbaikar Spirit”!!

Sir, what little doubts I entertained have simply vanished- I believe,and I deeply regret to state, the Indian secular is an “INVETERATE PURVEYOR OF FALSEHOOD”. There is enough and more evidence from the past decade to prove this point.
