Jaipur: Succumbing to death threats issued by Fanatic Muslims in India , Salman Rushdie pulled out from his visit to India and from the literature festival organised here.

According to Press Statement issued by Salman Rushdie “I have now been informed by intelligence sources in Maharashtra and Rajasthan that paid assassins from the Mumbai underworld may be on their way to Jaipur to ‘eliminate’ me,”

“While I have some doubts about the accuracy of this intelligence, it would be irresponsible of me to come to the Festival in such circumstances; irresponsible to my family, to the festival audience, and to my fellow writers.

“I will therefore not travel to Jaipur as planned.”

Jubilant with their death threats , Jihadi leaders now demand the blood and head of those who read Satanic Verses written by Salman Rushdie.

As per the recent demand issued by Jihadi leader  and Member of Parliament Asaduddin Owaisi of Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen demands arrest of those writers who read the book in the festival. Authors Hari Kunzru, Amitava Kumar, Jeet Thayil and Ruchir Joshi read some passages from ‘The Satanic Verses’ on the first day of the festival and this Jihadi leader now wants their blood.

It seems, the leftist and self styled intellectuals who fiercely advocates for the freedom of expression of M F Hussein is not at all aware about this Rajasthan literature festival and Salman Rushdie episode!
