Ramayan quiz a fad???

via HK Correspondent published on January 17, 2006

The Indian Express / PTI has called the HSS initiative to start a Ramayan quiz for its children in the Balagokulam a fad! What is a fad? Fad can be described as a craze for a brief period of time. HK calls this an utterly disgusting and biased report.

Is teaching the new generation the scriptures or at least making them knowledgeable about it simply a fad? Or a fashion statement? Would the Indian Express group then call the Christian Sunday schools and the Muslim madrassas fads? We challenge you to do so. You will have your newspapers all over the country burnt in bundles and your offices smashed to pieces.

The media cannot forever take the Hindus for passive, silent and defeated people. It’s a well planned agenda by anti Hindu media to enrage the spirit of the average Hindu and to provoke him to retaliate. In the process, they have another story to report on for a long time. A story on how ‘hindutva forces’ attacked the media.

When a Christian group organized a Bible quiz and Indian children took part in that quiz contest , none of these media called it a fad. Why?

Hindu society needs to respond with a strong message to those biased media that it will not stand aside and watch what it considers as deeply holy being equated with fashion statements.
