The activists also gave a representation to Gandhi Medical College principal as well as the hospital superintendent to look into the issue and prevent similar occurings in the future.

Gandhi Hospital in-charge superintendent Dr B Balanageshwari constituted a six-member committee, comprising professors and paramedics, to probe the issue. The committee would submit a report to the government.

“There are allegations that staff nurses are also involved in conversions. Two post-graduate doctors are also involved along with Prof David Raj,” AP Junior Doctors’ Association (APJUDA) president Dr G Raghu Kishore said.

Police rushed to the spot fearing trouble and dispersed the mob and let off the two persons. Though no case has been booked, the Chilkalguda police said that after an inquiry, if needed, a case would be booked.
