Press Ethics and Nation’s Image
PCI Chairman on Press ethics – Kolkata Agencies; 28-9-2010
What is the use of a toothless, gormless Press Council headed by a doddering, waffling, Retreaded Judge of the Supreme Court? This complaint of “paid editorials’ and paid news†has been floating around for years and the PCI has done zilch about it.
In fact it is said that it is a Press Club of India for eating-boozing-meetings sponsored by Press Barons and Lobbyists.
Regarding the CWG mess and the daily blitz on the subject by the Media, this Retreaded Judge has said “The news media exposed is good but beyond a point it would tarnish the image of the country.â€
The Message that has not reached his Applicatory Mind is that ‘Tarnishing the Image of this Country, and more particularly its 85% Hindu citizens and Hindu Ethos’ is exactly what the scoundrelly Media has been doing 24 X 7 all these decades.
