Popular television ridicules Srishanth’s family
A comedy show aired very recently on a popular visual media mimicked what went on in a private gathering at India’s youngest cricket talent, Srishanth’s family. The crass mimic stint did not forget to trivialize and ridicule the most private and sacred religious sentiments of his dearest ones.
Let’s rewind the tape a bit and see how the same media channel held our breath as it televised through the lens the tight strung faces of Anju George’s fans and family, including the local priest as they stood and watched their darling star toe the line for her much anticipated Olympic jump. But then, there were no mimic artists to debase their sentiments or a mainstream media to air such unsavory entertainment.
It remains to be seen when our apathetic Hindu viewers will wake up and realize for how long they have been taken for a ride.
