Objectionable parodies on Asianet shows
Scores of Asianet viewers would have shocked yesterday after watching a vulgar dance performance by a fellow who parodied the actress Seema in the program “Idea Star Singer”, which was telecast last night (17th Feb.’10). It was just too vulgar, in very bad taste and an affront to womanhood. What further shocked was the poor taste of the majority of the audience and the judges. Singer M.G. Sreekumar said that it was a bit too much, but anchor Ranjini Haridas and an actress on the show called the performance as ‘fantastic’.
Instead of women ‘enjoying’ such cheap parodies, they should raise objections to such vulgar shows. Similarly, there was a show parodying our venerable Amma in Asianet “Cinemala” programme some months back. Shame on Asianet!
