No partiality, Justice for all : Asianet assured

Sudden changes in Asianet policy, an eye-opener for other visual channels in Kerala

It was a long standing demand by Hindu society to Kerala medias, especially visual channels to do justice for Hindu society. None of the Hindu organizations forced any media to highlight their own programs or give priority to its leaders, but only sought impartial reports.

With a new hope, Asianet channel -‘A pro left supported channel’ from its inception made massive changes in their policies in recent times.

Media sources in Kerala believe the sudden changes could be due to two reasons, 1) after Rajeev Chandrasekhar took over as new Chairman 2) due to heavy competitions in the visual media market in Kerala

There were number of criticism from the Hindu society over Asianet’s anti Hindu stands in various instances. But its time to pen down here with few words about the encouraging changes in the Channels attitude towards the issues related to Hindu society.

a) The decision to interview P.Parameswarji, the towering symbol of Hindutva in the nation through their ON RECORD program was wholeheartedly received by nationalistic people in the state. [Till that time no senior Hindu organization leaders appeared for an interview with any visual channels in Kerala]

b) Various protest marches undertaken by Hindu Aikiya Vedi / VHP was broadcasted live in recent times, specially during Changanessary incident. [It never happened before]

c) By broadcasting the whole press conference by P.K. Krishnadas live during Changanessary incident, Asianet helped the mass to understand the truth behind Changanassery issue.

d) Asianet is doing a great job by telecasting a program about Sri Sai Baba on every Friday for the last several years.

e) Asianet’s recent two programs dedicated to highlight the atrocities of Government and Devasom Board members towards Ayyappa devotees are highly appreciable. In their Program “Cover Story” by Sindhu Suryakumar and “Nerkkuner” by P.G Suresh Kumar was timely telecasted and had succeeded in highlighting the inefficiency and double games played by Politicians in case of Sabarimala.

f) Although Ayyapa serial telecasted in Asianet has lost its sacredness by its attempt to secularize it by adding unheard stories on Ayyappa, the new serial named SreeKrishna Leelamritham is doing 100% justice to Krishna Bhakthi so far.

While penning down these good work by Asianet, Hindu society is keeping in mind the bitter experiences from this Channel’s attitude in various genuine issues earlier like blackout of Guruji Birth Centenary Celebrations and Kshetra Raksha Yatra undertaken by Hindu Aikiya Vedi to highlight the Government’s injustice and indifferent attitude towards Hindu Devotees.

We appeal to Asianet authorities to do justice for all irrespective of political or religious background. Highlight the good work doing by various NGOs in Kerala who has nothing to do with politics. Highlight good politics NOT the present vote bank politics. Keep up the value of journalism ethics and show the way to others how to develop an impartial Media culture in Kerala.
