Muslim leaders forget their political difference and stand together under infamous Faris Abubekar

HARRIS ABUBEKAR CHAIRS MALABAR MUSLIM ASSOCIATION MEETING AT CHENNAI

Chennai: Faris Abubekar whom the former Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan despised and addressed as `the hated’ has now appeared in a public meeting at Chennai for the first time. This infamous international businessman who has been involved in cases in foreign countries and in India always kept away from public and has not at any time appeared in a meeting. Pinarai Vijayan’s close association with notorious criminal were well reported in the media during various scams which shackled CPI(M).

At Chennai there there is a Muslim organization called `Malabar Muslim Association’ and they on 26 July arranged a meeting while laying the foundation stone for their office building at Egmore. Faris Abubaker chaired the meeting which was attended by P.K. Kunjali Kutty (Muslim League), M.M.Hassan (Congress), T.K. Hamsa (CPM) and Panakkadu Shihab Ali Thangal. Farris Abubekar who sponsors the building construction during his speech mentioned that he wanted the public to know that he is not in any kind of hiding, but with his presence he wish to reiterate that even though divisive groups are present in any organization, the Malabar Muslim Association is an organization above all such groups. M.M.Hassan during his speech spent a good time in praising Faris Abubekar.

It should be deduced from the above meeting that, Muslims stand together as one irrespective of their political or sectarian differences. They remain always as Muslims whether they belong to Congress, CPM, Muslim League, PDP. SDPI, NDF or any such group. This unique feature they have demonstrated during the last assembly elections and by securing 20 seats, they are governing others who claim to be the majority.
