Maharashtra Govt to shower scholarships on students studying in madrassas

published on November 9, 2013

Mumbai : Few months back, announcement was made about granting funds of Rs. 10 crores to madrassas in the State. Now students studying in these madrassas will get scholarships. There are about 1889 madrassas in the State and under modernisation of these madrassas, students will be given scholarships. Students from 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th standard will get such scholarship in Government approved schools for religious as well as other education.

Students studying in 9th and 10th standard will get Rs. 4000/- whereas students from 11th, 12th standards and ITI will get Rs.5000/-. Students getting such scholarship should have 75% attendance in schools. Initially, the benefit of such scheme will be extended to 1000 students from the State. The above news has been published on the website of ‘ZEE 24 Taas’ news channel.

Why scholarship is being granted to students who are getting education on religion ? There are many ‘Veda-Pathashalas’ in the State where Hindus children are imparted education related to their Dharma. Students, studying in such ‘Veda- Pathashalas’, should also be given scholarships. If that is not going to happen, Hindus need to take the Government to task ! – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat
