Lord Padmanabha’s name is not a football to kick around to prove your secular credentials

Thiruvananthapuram: Thanks to growing interest across the world over Shri Padmanabha Swamy temple in last couple of weeks , Kerala Government decided to restore Kerala Sahithya Akademy the name of Lord Sree Padmanabha for it’s children’s literature award. The award was started in the name of Lord Ananthapadmanabhan with the endowment donated by Travancore Royal family in 1958.

The name of Lord Padmanabhan was removed by Marxist Government in 2007 – As according to then Academy President M Mukundan and other leftist stooges – It was a great threat to Kerala’s secularism to have the name of a Hindu god for this award. Leftist supporters Left supporters and rationalists like P T Bhaskara Panikker, M P Parameswaran and C G Santhakuamar along with 48 others have received this award since it’s inception. All out of sudden the name of Padmanabha became a threat to our Marxist leaders.

Culture Minister K C Joseph had last week asked the Academy to have a fresh look into the matter and made it clear that Congress-led UDF government did not agree with the view that secularism would suffer if the award was resumed. The decision to reinstate the award comes in the wake of huge wealth being recovered from Temple vaults and not out of any love towards Hindus or Lord Padmanabhan. If the UDF Ministry’s concern were true they should have opposed it when Marxist’s took it away in 2007. None of these Congress or UDF leaders have uttered a word when Lord padmanabha was humiliated then.

Will our Hindu organisations states equivocally that – Lord Padmanabha is not a football to kick around for our Politicians to prove or disapprove their secular credentials. Dear Secular leaders please don’t Humiliate even if you don’t Honour
