PATHANAMTHITTA:
The Kerala Pulayar Mahasabha and the Dalit-Adivasi Ekopana Samithi have
voiced their concern over the activities of some fake spiritual leaders
with the dubious objective of cornering the reservation benefits of
Schedule Caste communities, including Pulayar (Cheramar).

Talking
to newsmen here on Friday, KPMS state vice-president M K Parameswaran,
district president Mandiram Ravindran and Ekopana Samithi chairman I K
Ravindraraj said that by creating godmen through fake spiritualism, the
Ervaiperoor-based PRDS was taking away the employment reservation and
other benefits meant for the Scheduled Caste people.

The Kerala
High Court in an order in 1967 ( KLT105/67) said that the PRDS
organisation is neither Hindu nor Christian, hence had no right for
reservation benefits. They said that 11 pasters, led by Poikayil
Yohannan and Njaliyankuzhi Simon Yohannan, set up the PRDS as an
evangelistic church.

However, PRDS, with the dubious motive of
obtaining the SC benefits and to attract more people into its fold,
changed the name of Poikayil Yohannan to Sree Kumara Gurudevan, they
said.

A special convention of all concerned will be held at
Eraviperoor, near Tiruvalla, on June 1 to take a decision on the future
course of action against the the so-called spiritual leaders, they said.
