Kerala Kalamandalam, Jesus and Western Music

via HK Correspondent published on August 7, 2007

Kochi: Humiliation and oppression of Hindus were the hall mark of alternating pseudo secular government in the land of Adi Sankara since past few decades.

Recently the sponsors of those earlier covert operations come out openly and challenge the tolerance of an average Hindu.

The most revered cultural centre Kerala Kalamandalam the dream child of Maha Kavi Vallathol, has come out with an even better prospect by launching their website http://www.kalamandalam.org/home.asp

The site allegedly made to promote this great centre which has been in the forefront of promoting and teaching the great art forms like Mohinyattom and Kathakali.

As one goes through this excellent site we expect to be taken through a journey of nostalgia that would make any Indian proud of his heritage. But you will be startled to hear western jazz music coming from the creative developers of the site.

Overcoming that that initial shock, if you dare to go inside it has more surprises in store for you. In the Right side you can see few links which the Kalamandalam claims to be as IMPORTANT links.

Go through that and click the Fifth link  http://www.doloursbasilica.com/  ! Now don’t ask What is the role of JESUS in promoting temple arts in Kerala.

We wonder whether now in Kalamandalam,  â€˜Aattavillaku’ (Traditional Lamp used while performing Kathakali) is also being replaced by Candles

HK requests all readers to flood the email of  Dr.N.R.Gramprakah, Secretary of Kerala Kalamandalam to [email protected] to remove this symbol of religious site from this site.
