Soccer mania: SKSSF plans campaign

KOZHIKODE: SKSSF, the student wing of the Samastha Kerala Jem-Iyyathul Ulema, has launched a campaign against soccer mania that has gripped Malabar as part of the FIFA World Cup 2010.

What irked the Sunni outfit is the ‘the fact that youth are lavishing their time and money for an event that should have been celebrated with restraint.’ “We have observed that the soccer love in Malabar has reached a level of mania. It has assumed ludicrous levels in some parts of North Kerala,” said Nazar Faizi Koodathayi, the general secretary of the SKSSF.
