Is “SHRIMANT” more harmful than “GANDHI” ?

via HARAN.B.R. published on November 15, 2006

It is quite amusing to see the ‘fuss’ made by a section of the media & columnists on the Royal Title “Shrimant” claimed by Yasodara Raje Scindia.

Immediately after independence, all the Hindu Kings accessed their Kingdoms with the Sovereign India with great magnanimity, respecting the call given by Sardar vallabhai Patel. But,the then government of India under the stewardship of Nehru, never bothered to fulfill the commitments given to those Rajas & Ranis.

It is worthy to note that the Indhra Gandhi government’s motion on ‘Privy purse’ was also defeated by only one vote. Also, the Nizams & Nawabs never wanted to access their kingdoms with the sovereign India and the Government had to use force to make them fall in line. While the Nawabs & Nizams can still call themselves as Princes & Princesses, what is wrong in Yasodara’s demand?

Right from Indra Priyadarshini to Priyanka’s siblings, the Nehru family has been fooling the people with the ‘Gandhi’ suffix for more than five decades. Even the foreign-born Sonia has right royally usurped the ‘Gandhi’ title. But, what is the connection between the title “Gandhi” and the Nehru family?

How many times the media & these columnists have written about this cheating & fraud committed on the innocence of the people of this country? When the useless & criminal politicians, who have amassed wealth & money by all the wrong & illegal means, can live a life of Maharajas, why so much of fuss on a genuine demand by the well deserved lady? Is it not hypocritical on the part of the media & these columnists to ridicule this simple matter?
