Holi festival and Indian Rationalists Association

via GSK Menon published on March 4, 2010

TV channel Headlines Today carried a programme featuring the President of the Indian Rationalists Association, one person by name Sanal Idamuruku. He was railing and ranting about the Holi featival celebrated in Dungarpur in Rajasthan where stone pelting is the way of merry making. He was claiming it was superstition and the immature TV females were screaming in unison that it is superstition. I keep wondering why our TV channels and such associations keep targeting only Hindu festivals ?

This man Sanal Idamuruku, as his name suggests is a Kerala Christian and he has a vested interest in ridiculing Hindu culture and festivities. If he was so concerned about superstition then he should not forget that the biggest superstition in this world is the belief that the Jew helplessly dangling on the cross can be thair saviour ! Can there be any other greater superstition in this whole world ? A man who was crucified, in accordance with the prevailing customary mode of punishment then, he died helplessly, Neither his family, nor his disciples nor even God (he claimed he was the only son of god) nobody came to his rescue ! That this man will save everybody from so called sins, is this not the greatest superstition on this Earth today ?
