Hindus denied the right to cremate in Meghalaya

published on June 7, 2015

Following humble petition loaded in change.org , caught our attention. Hindu tribes of Garo hills in Meghalaya plead for their right to cremate in a piece of land belonging to them for centuries.

Hindus of Tura town- Garo Hills, Meghalaya are under continuous pressure from local fake NGOs for abandoning present cremation ground which they are using since last so many years. Hindus have valid land documents of ownership for the same. But still they are being harassed for no reason. With this petition we are appealing people of Garo Hills not to harass Hindus.

Meghalaya, with more than 70% converted Christians are impeaching the right of remaining few more Hindus to cremate their dead bodies. We often hear about the violation of minority rights in our media, but no one seems to be around for those remaining few Hindus who are humiliated by majority Christians in Meghalaya.
HK, request all readers to take your small time and effort to sign this petition, which may or may not have a positive impact in their struggle to remain as Hindus in their own land.
