Hindu Society thwarted Marxist Attempt to wipe out Poonthanam from History

Guruvayur: Following strong opposition from Hindu organisations, Historians, and Cultural leaders Marxist Government Sponsored Guruvayur Devaswom Board was forced to withdraw an affidavit in the court that there are no proofs on whether Poonthanam Nampoothiri has ever lived, the poet who enriched Malayalam language with devotion and the essence of Vedanta.

The Board which had on a court case to take procession of the Illam of the late poet Poonthanam had earlier given an affidavit in the court that there are no proofs on whether Poonthanam has ever lived!! The case was for acquiring of the Poonthanam Illam, its property and Sree Krishna temple in the property under the Guruvayur dewaswom board. While producing the affidavit in this case the board responded that it has no proof on whether Poonthanam has ever lived raising a major controversy.

This controversy is part of long time agenda of Marxist party to capture Temples of Kerala, Told Kerala Kshetra Samrakshana Samithi President Shri N.M.Kadamban Nampoothiripad. This move is to secularize Temples as well like any other Government institutions. BJP State General Secretary M.T. Ramesh demanded the resignation of Guruvayur Devaswom President Thottathil Raveendran who signed the affidavit. Sensing the present uproar from Devotees now Communist conspirators are trying to portaray this attack against Hindus as a mere Mistake.

Guruvayur Thantri Shri Channas Raman Namboothiri told that none consulted or tried to find out about Poonthanam one of the biggest devotee of Sri Guruvayoorappan, prior to submitting any affidavit.

Historian Shri M.G.S.Narayanan opined that these controversies are a result of Government control of Temples.It is the foolishness of Kerala Society to allow Government to administer Temples. As long as Government interference is there in issues related to faith and worship such controversies will be there.

Historian and Researcher Dr. M.G. Sasibhushan pointed out the irony that in the book ‘Guruvayur Temple’published by Guruvayur Devaswom itself written by renowned Historian K.V.Krishna Aiyer gives ample evidences about the life time of Poonthanam. Even in Guruvayur Devaswom’s official website they mentions that Poonthanam lived here during 1547-1640.

This all points to one fact that Communist Atheists in the administration is only interested in ridiculing and humiliating Hindu Soceity and our towering guiding lights like Poonthanam and Thunchathu Ezhuthachan.
