Father- son duo relate tale of Party humiliation

The family who were used by the ruling front as pawns in the effort to tarnish AP Abdullahkutty MLA related their tale of utter humiliation at the hands of Party Goons and `Party media` persons.

KS Prasad known as Prasad Pillai,an industrialist residing in the Gulf, was on his way to Ponmudi along with his wife Jasinda Prasad and son Sanjay when he was advised by his Sub inspector friend that it would be wiser if he delayed his journey until after the hartal/bandh was over. Accordingly, Prasad diverted to the Vithura Police station and waited there. After a while, AP Abdullahkutty was escorted to the Police station after the MLA was stopped by CPM Bandh supporters. Soon after the MLA left the station, a mob of CPM supporters surrounded the station alleging that the woman along with Mr. Prasad Pillai was in fact accompanying Abdullahkutty. The CPM mob started verbally abusing the woman and taking photographs of her through the Police station window. Thoroughly humiliated by the jeering mob, the family did not know what to make of the ruckus. Soon, a group of Media persons from CPM`s TV channel arrived at he scene and started to videograph the terrified family. By then,the Party channel had started repeatedly broadcasting a ‘flash news` of the alleged capture of the Congress MLA with ‘a woman`.

Some people in the mob had recognized Prasad Pillai and tried to diffuse the situation, but it was too late since then ‘special branch` of the Police had arrived and started to question the family.

Finally Mr Prasad was able to convince the authorities with using his identity card that the woman traveling with him was his wife.

Recollecting the harrowing incident Prasad vows never to have any dealing with kerala again. He says h has decided to sell off his remaining plot is Peringamala. The role played by the Party channel ‘Kairali` in humiliating his family was even more painful as he himself had bought shared in the “Party channel` he said.
