COMMUN(ist)AL Brinda’s Secular Sermons!

There was a report in a section of the media yesterday that, CPM leader Brinda Karat had written a letter to the Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil suggesting him to probe the functioning of Hindu Rashtriya Sena, terming it as a ‘communal’ outfit. She has also demanded probes in to the functioning of ‘such similar’ outfits.

 It is amusing to note that the CPM leader Brinda Karat had suddenly woken up to the activities undertaken by the so-called communal (read ‘Hindu’) groups and demanded for a probe in to their functioning through a letter to the Home minister Shivraj Patil. While the attack of the Hindu Rashtriya Sena on the Star TV office may be condemnable, one is tempted to ask, what stakes Brinda has got in Star TV? Why Brinda has been silent on many other minority groups, which indulge in worse activities? The Hindu Rashtriya Sena has attacked only the office unlike the minority outfits, which attack the human beings and murder them.

 For example, the Muslim outfit NDF has been unleashing violence & terror through out Kerala since it’s inception and both the previous Congress government & the present Communist government have been turning a blind eye on them. Similarly, the MNP (Manidha Needhi Pasarai) of Tamil Nadu has been conducting schools in the name of “Arivagam” for converting & training the youth to take to Jihad. Apart from NDF & MNP, many other organizations such as TMMK & SIMI are also active through out the country indulging in communal violence & terror attacks. Many other small outfits are also operated by Christian missionaries to indulge in conversion & evangelical activities in a large scale through out the country. Also, CPM & CPI affiliated outfits such as DYFI & SFI have a long track record of violence & anti-social activities. These outfits spend crores of money even on ‘graffiti’ and nobody knows from where they source so much of money.

What prevented Brinda Karat from writing letters to Home minister & Prime minister about all these outfits? Why didn’t CPM politburo discuss the anti-national activities of these outfits? Why didn’t the Left front take up these issues in the UPA-Left coordination committee meetings? Is Brinda trying to say that only Hindu organizations are communal & violent and the others are secular & peaceful? Does she mean to say that the fundamentalist outfits of minority communities are “doves of love” & “pigeons of peace”?

All these pseudo secular political parties, intellectuals & the media should understand the fact that there is a limit for tolerance and it would be better for them to stop the bashing of Hindus & appeasing of minorities for the prevalence of peace & harmony.
