Church burnt down by Muslims in Punjab

Only Christian Church in Malerkotla, a small town 60 kilometers sway from Ludhiana, Punjab was burnt down by Muslims in retaliation to burning of pages from Islamic Religious Book “ Koran in various places in United States”.

Malerkotla is a Muslim majority town. Church was located in Loha Bazar area near Islamia Senior Secondary School.
As news of Church burning spread, hundreds of Christians gathered near Christian Medical College and Hospital premises in Ludhiana.

According to eyewitnesses, some of these Christians were brandishing swords and other weapons, while raising slogans. The protesting crowd even burnt some tyres. Police force was rushed to the area to prevent any major flare-up.Christian Medical College, Ludhiana is the main centre of religious conversions in Punjab.
