Christian ex-employee held for disfiguring Bible cage
CHENNAI: A 41-year-old ex-employee of a Protestant church in the western suburbs here was arrested Saturday, a day after he allegedly disfigured the glass cage of a wall-embedded Bible, police said.
“The suspect, Yesuraj, admitted during questioning that he had a grudge against the institution’s management for having sacked him after 23 years of service. He confessed that he destroyed the Bible’s glass cage in a moment of anger,” a police official said.
Meanwhile, Director General of Police K.P. Jain ordered strict vigil throughout Tamil Nadu to prevent incidents based on personal enmity that could lead to communal disturbances.
