Asianet Space Salute

Thiruvananthapuram: Asianet
Television has honoured the team of ISRO scientists behind the recent
success of PSLV-C9 mission in which 10 satellites were placed in the
orbit in one mission successfully.The programme named ‘Asianet Space
Salute’ was inaugurated by the former President Dr.APJ Abdul Kalam.







Addressing the function Kalam said that India
must develop five core areas including Agriculture & Health
Production, Education &Health care, Information &Communication
Technology Infrastructure by the year 2020.”The nation today has an
ascending economic trajectory with the energy of 540 million youth and
23 million people of Indian origin across the planet with the sharing
capacity of knowledge”Abdul Kalam said.”What inspires ISRO is the spirit of the people of the country”he said.


Nation’s
dream of manned mission into space will be fulfilled by the year 2015
said ISRO Chairman G.Madhavan Nair.India’s place in space research is
among the developed countries said Dr.M.S Valiathan.


In
the function Asianet has announced a scholarship for young scientists
to encourage scientific talent in coordination with ISRO and Rajiv
Gandhi Institute of Biotechnology.Asianet Chief of Programmes TN
GopaKumar and Editor K.Mohanan lead the function.


It
is the first time that a Malayalam Television Channel has organized a
function to honour our top scientists. Previously Asianet has organized
a function in memory of the Kargil Martyrs that received overwhelming
response from all sections of the society.
