Modi’s Chennai Yatra – Democracy’s victory lap!

LETTER TO DECCAN CHRONICLE

Sir

I refer to your appalling Editorial “Modi’s Chennai Yatra” Modii’s yatra has been a great success as evidenced by the article “Modi a Hit in Chennai” in Hindustan Times dated 15 th Jan 2008.

The ignorant Muslims & the innocent Dalits, (mis)led by the “Terrorist Muslims Munnetra Kazhagam” & Terrorist Thirumavalavan respectively, have wasted their time and energy unnecessarily. Fatwas & Death warrants in the name of protests are being issued & used by the leaders of TMMK & VCK to destroy the Muslims & Dalits. TMMK’s death threats, Thirumavalavan’s advise of welcoming Modi with chappals-garland and a miniscule group of dirty rascals attempting to protest against Mr.Modi by trying to ‘defecate’ in front of BJP office in SS colony, Madurai (DC dated 15th) and the DMK Government turning a blind eye to all these, go to prove how the “Tamils” have been “culturally” groomed to show their “Bravery”, by its leaders.

Your editorial appreciating this kind of rotten & ugly exhibition as “bravery” and describing the genuine concern of BJP for Modi’s security as “weak”, shows your callousness & unethical mindset. Mr.Karunanidhi must understand that if he continues hobnobbing with these kinds of ‘roguish’ (‘vibrant’ in your language) allies, he would be condemned soon.

While Modi’s successful visit has been a ‘slap’ on the face of the so-called Anti Fascist Front (a combination of terrorists & rowdies), the smooth conduction of the Thuglak meeting in Kamarajar Arangam has been another slap on the faces of Congress men who wanted to thwart the program.

Modi being a democratically elected leader, that too for a third consecutive time has all the rights to travel anywhere and address any gathering. People who have made ugly protests against it have brought disgrace not only to themselves but also to Indian democracy.

Your final observation that “Modi’s yatra has left a bitter taste for those who value democracy and free expression” had proved how arrogant & undemocratic you are! Had you attended the Thuglak meeting, you would have learnt what are democracy, moral behaviour and ethical conduction. But since you were focusing on your undemocratic associates outside the venue, you have written an unethical editorial supporting them. I suggest you read the above referred article of Hindustan Times. Cheers!

Thanks & Regards,
