World’s first ever floating Ayurvedic Resort launched

Kochi:Ayur Nauka, probably the first ever floating Ayurvedic Resort in the world, was launched by the Kerala Tourism Minister, Mr K C Venugopal here today.


The Ayur Nauka of Ayur Voyages Pvt Limited, a sister concern of Ayuryogashram, the delightful heritage Ayurvedic Resort at Thrissur, is a traditional “kettuvallam” transformed into a modern houseboat with all conveniences of modern living, Mr M P K Nair, Chairman of the group told HK. The facilities include long term and short term Ayurvedic Rejuvenation treatment on board. It has four luxury bed rooms, besides a supplementary room for guests.


The Nauka, made of “Anjili” wood, is 96 feet long and 16 feet wide and is run by 65 HP diesel engine. The upper deck of the boat is the Ayurvedic section which includes massage room with traditional “Enna Thoni”, steam bath facility, doctor’s cabin for diagnosis and a balcony for relaxation.
