Some of the topics to be presented at the summit include the Human rights case of the Bangladeshi Hindus, Misconceptions about Hinduism (Sanaatan Dharma) and the Seven Stars’ approach, and the Anti-Hindu bias in the media.

The Chicago Hinduism Summit or Hindu Dharma Sabha is being organized by charitable organizations, including the Hindu Temple of Lake County and Forum for Hindu Awakening (FHA). It is receiving support and blessings from noteworthy Hindu and spiritual leaders, organizations and activists from all over the world. It hopes to unite everyone interested in Hinduism, to preserve Hinduism for its unique spiritual scientific basis that holds out concrete solutions for many of the problems rampant in society today.

For this second occasion of the Hinduism Summit at Chicago, invited speaker Dr. Richard Benkin has expressed his stance about this summit in the following way: “As an activist fighting to save persecuted Hindus in Bangladesh, I am honored to again participate in the Hindu Dharma Sabha, which unites Hinduism and Vedic principles with a resolute defense of the oppressed and self-defense.  In that way, too, the Dharma Sabha that is helping to further dialogue among Hindus and Jews so dear to my heart among two groups that share so much.”

Meanwhile, Shri. Hakumat Shroff, President of the Hindu Temple of Lake County has stated the importance of this Dharma Sabha for the local society in the following words “…Through this Dharma Sabha, we look forward to increasingly becoming a center for Hinduism learning besides being a place for Hindu worship, for our surrounding communities !”

As per the Hindu scriptures, to follow Hinduism is an attitude, far more than a religious ideology. It implies developing spiritually pure qualities (love, compassion, humility, etc) within and removing spiritually impure attitudes (anger, greed, attachment, etc). To this effect, the Hinduism Summit also aims to promote an understanding about the unique spiritual science behind Hindu practices, and provide practical guidance on living Hinduism. Its different, spiritual dimension based approach towards explaining Hinduism concepts and solving issues, appeals to many.
