‘VHP to rehabilitate Lankan Tamils’
MADURAI: The Viswa Hindu Parishad (VHP) would undertake measures to rehabilitate the Lankan Tamils affected by war in that country, its general secretary Praveen Togadia said here on Saturday.
Togadia said he condemned the Sri Lankan armed forces for the massacre of more than 20,000 Tamil civilians.
He said both the Central and State governments had failed to protect the Tamils.
As soon this ban was lifted, the VHP would mobilise its national and international resources to rehabilitate the Tamil Hindus.
Asked why he stressed on Tamil Hindus instead of the Tamil community as a whole, he said the VHP was a Hindu organisation and the focus would be on Hindus though no discrimination would be shown to other communities on grounds of religion, caste or creed
