Rigveda in UNESCO enlisting

The first portion of VEDA, Rigveda got placed in the list of UNESCO, as the written heritage. It has started in 1997 to enlist such written heritages and now it became almost 158 in number. Rigveda has got two importants with UNESCO, the one as the oldest religious text and the second is as the oldest text written in Indo-Europian languages.


 


It is in UNESCO‘s study calculation that the Rigveda has wrote between BC 1700 and BC 1100 in the northern area of India, now known as Punjab State.


 


Indians can be proud with such studies by the westerners on our heritage and their acceptance on our historical importance.
