Muslim hatred against free speech

via HK Correspondent published on January 31, 2006

The largest Newspaper in Denmark, JYLLANDS-POSTEN has published an article on Muslim violence with a drawing of Muhamed, the prophet of Islam. The Newspaper also depicted violence perpetuated by Muslims in the name of Islam around the world today.

Several Muslim Imams from Denmark reacted angrily and issued threats against the Chief Editor Carsten Juste and the newspaper. “Muslims will never accept any caricature of Muhamed” fumed Danish Imam Raed Hlayhel. The article and the illustration made Muslims around the world furious. As usual, Jihadis demanded an apology from the Danish Newspaper Jyllands-Posten. The Chief Editor, Carsten Juste refused and the Danish Writers Union decried the Muslim’s demand as a threat to free speech.  Flemming Rose, Cultural Editor of the newspaper issued a statement, “We live in a democracy. That’s why we can use all journalistic methods we want to. Satire is accepted in this country and we can make caricatures. Islam should not set any barriers on that sort of _expression”.”Muslims cannot demand special treatment in a secular society”. “In a democracy one must from time to time accept criticism or become a laughing stock”.

This type of threat against free _expression is nothing new. Jihadi Muslims have been threatening, issuing Fatwas, creating violence, and murdering journalists, writers and non-believers for hundreds of years. Muslim thugs in Denmark and in the middle east are on a war path. Thousands of Muslims marched in demonstrations against the Newspaper in Egypt, Libya, Bahrain, Kuwait, Dubai, and Saudi Arabia. The Pakistani Jamaat-e-Islamic Party offered five thousand kroner to anyone who killed the artist. The Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) with a membership of 56 Muslim Nations, protested to the Danish government. Business establishments  in the middle east closed their shops to protest the cartoons. The Chief minister of Kashmir, Ghulam Nabi Azad, was reportedly “anguished” by the cartoons, and asked India’s Prime Minister to complain to the Danish government. Danish products are now being boycotted by Muslims business establishments in the middle east.

Islamic nations that do not practice freedom of speech, democracy, pluralism, religious tolerance and multiculturalism refuse to accept freedom of _expression of Danish writers. Muslims do not seem concerned about the beliefs of the people of Denmark.

The Chief Editor of Jyllands-Posten has well articulated its position as founded upon core principles of Denmark. the Editor stated “we must quietly point out here that the drawings illustrated an article on the self-censorship which rules large parts of the free world. Our right to say, write, photograph and draw what we want to within the framework of the law exists and must endure unconditionally”. “If we apologize, we go against the freedom of speech that generations before us have struggled to win”.

The jihadi Muslim hatred of freedom and democracy imperils world peace. Muslim hostility and threat against the Newspaper is not an isolated incident. It is part of the larger Islamic paradigm conspiracy against freedom of speech, democracy and civil laws. It is part of Muslim’s closed and rigid mindset and their built in inability to accept tolerance, pluralism, religious diversity and multiculturalism.

Certainly Hindus have had to learn a lesson from this episode. Hindus should join together and stand behind freedom and democracy and guard against Islamic hatred and conspiracy. It is also time for Muslims to face the outdated Koranic taboos and Islamic toxic patterns with honesty and integrity.
