Massive Protest in London against “Boss of world’s largest sex abuse gang”

LONDON:London witnessed one of the biggest protest over years against Pope’s handling of Sexual abuse by Roman Catholic priests. some 10,000 chanting demonstrators snaked though the streets of London to protest against his handling of the abuse crisis and his views on homosexuals and the ordination of women.

“An apology is what a schoolboy does when he kicks a football through a window. What we need is for the pope to release all the files on predator priests,” Sue Cox, a demonstrator who was abused as a child, said on television.Sue Cox was molested by a priest on the day before her Catholic confirmation at the age of 10 and, three years later, raped by the same cleric, told the marchers of her anger over the Pope’s visit. “The only thing I experienced from the Catholic church are pain, anger, disgust, lies and shame.”

Protesters unfurled banners with statements including:”Pope’s opposition to condoms kills people”, “Keep the Pope out of women’s’ reproductive rights” and “F*CK the Pope … But wear a condom”. Others simply called the Pope a “bigot” or a “homophobe”, while others balloons made up of blown up condoms, while some protesters displayed their anger at the Pontiff’s apparent role in covering up the child abuse scandal within the church. They carried banners reading “Benedict’s homophobia costs lives” and “Protect the Children – Demote the Pope.”One man held a placard with a picture of the Pope above the heading: “Boss of world’s largest sex abuse gang
