Los Angeles church becomes Art of Living centre
Bangalore: A 100-year-old church in Los Angeles, a registered national monument, has been offered to the Art of Living to run its community service initiatives.
Art of Living founder and spiritual guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar will inaugurate the new centre Wednesday in the presence of political, business and community leaders of Los Angeles.
The new centre will offer yoga, meditation and knowledge programmes to the public and host cultural events and forums designed to build bridges of understanding between the city’s diverse communities, a statement from Art of Living Foundation said Tuesday.
The former church first opened 100 years ago. Its construction began in 1907 and it opened to the public in 1910.
