Largest US temple opens in Atlanta, GA

ATLANTA : At 74 feet in height and spread over 30 acres, the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir is the largest temple of its kind in North America. For the 900 volunteers who worked tirelessly on building this religious site, it is nothing short of a personal pilgrimage.
The sanctum sanctorum has 165 columns, 105 ceilings with 42 different designs. Built at a cost of just over $19 million, the temple is an engineering marvel. No steel or metal has been used in construction.
