India rejects OIC’s comment on Kashmir
New Delhi: India on Thursday night rejected references made by the Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC) with regard to resolution of Kashmir issue, saying it had “no locus standi” to make comment on the state which is an integral part of India.
“We note with regret that the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers has once again chosen to comment on Jammu and Kashmir and India’s internal affairs,” External Affairs Ministry said in a statement here.
The Ministry was reacting to a declaration and resolutions adopted by OIC at its 35th session held in Kampala between June 18 and 20 in which the grouping expressed support for “Kashmiris’ right to self-determination” and favoured resolution of the Kashmir issue in accordance with the aspirations of the people of the state.
